Barry sounds battle-cry
Midfielder Gareth Barry has sounded a battle cry ahead of England’s vital World Cup 2010 qualifier with Andorra tomorrow (Saturday, September 6th).

Aston Villa’s Barry was part of the England side beaten home and away by Croatia during the Euro 2008 qualification campaign.

Now the 27-year-old, who was the centre of a tug-of-war transfer saga between Villa and Liverpool this summer, has underlined the importance of winning back confidence in the national team.

He said: “It is time for England to deliver, definitely. This is what we are going to be judged on.

“Everyone knows that - the manager, the players and the staff. It is time to stand up and give 100 per cent for the fans and get the job done.”

In mid-week, Barry is likely to be handed the task of marking Tottenham Hotspur playmaker Luca Modric when England face Croatia in Zagreb.
