England manager Fabio Capello has said he feels confident as the team prepare to mount their qualifying campaign for the 2010 World Cup.
Capello’s men will take on the Czech Republic at Wembley before taking on Andorra and Croatia in their fixtures next month.
The Italian said that despite the Three Lions failing to qualify for Euro 2008, he believes that they have the talent to make it to South Africa in two years’ time.
“I have every confidence in the team. It’s not important who our opponents are,” Capello proudly told Sky News.
“It’s very important to concentrate on us. We will be in South Africa, for sure,” he added.
He went on to say that England can play with “intelligence and speed” and said that he thought the team were at “the same level or better” than Euro 2008 winners Spain.
After being appointed England manager in December 2007, Capello announced that this would be the last role in his managerial career. His contract will run for another two years.
